Meet a local brand and hair care supplier Natural Moisture, lovingly headed up by Ruth, a blogger and hair educator at large. They (she) have been around for a while providing a number of hair care products including shea butter and satin pillow cases. (I see that they also now stock henna powder, flexi rods and more, talk about a one stop shop). You can follow Ruth on her blog and various other social media http://naturalsisters.co.za/ and meet her at various hair events. You will always leave more knowledgeable than you were before.Straight forward and to the point.
A long while ago, I paid Ruth a visit and stocked up on unrefined shea butter. I use shea butter for my home made mixes. I like the benefits and versatility of shea butter and enjoy getting it all fluffy with my electric mixer/beater. Natural Moisture's Unrefined Shea Butter whips up quite easily mixed with some coconut oil and other oils and I add essential oils to tone down its natural nutty scent. (I don't really like its natural scent).
With this particular mix I added some gel in addition to coconut oil, other oils and drops of lavender essential oil.
Which brand of shea butter do you use? I have listed a few sources HERE and will be updating this list in due course.Have fun and as always, listen to your hair.
